Kites and Castles is an annual event held at Martin Bay, Lake McConaughy in western Nebraska. Every year for 21 years, we have held a sand sculpting contest and kite fly for everyone who wishes to attend. Kites and Castles draws people from all across America to our small part of the world to participate in the free sand sculpting contest and kite fly. Why? Well, we offer more than just a sand sculpting contest and kite fly. Every year we have a free live outdoor concert and dance! And seriously, who would pass up free entertainment at the beach!

Registration for the sand sculpting contest begins at 11:00am at Martin Bay and the contest is from 12pm-4pm.
